Meet the Teams
Catholic University
Catholic became the first school in the 13-year history of the Landmark Conference to sweep both the men’s and women’s swimming & diving championships in the same season. The Cardinals welcome back three-time Swimmer of the Year, Gregory McCarthy and 2019-20 Rookie of the Year, Ellis Prescott for the men.
Caroline Beal, who accounted for five All-Landmark selections at last year’s meet highlights the women’s roster.
Drew University
The Ranger men’s team placed third at last year’s championship, the highest finish since joining the league in 2007. At last year’s meet, Drew earned first-place finishes in both the 200-medley relay and 800 medley relay events while earning second place in the 200 free and 400 free relays. Matheus Macena, Josh Roberts, Jake Zajdzinski, Jeffrey Crouse, Harrison Neal, all of whom were on the relays return.
The Rangers lost two-time Swimmer of the Year Mal Viswanath. She left Drew with 15 Landmark Conference titles and four meet records. 2019-20 Rookie of the Year Katie Cashin returns for her sophomore campaign. She piled up four golds, one silver, and one bronze last year, and made her mark in the 400-yard individual medley race, setting a new meet and conference record and went on to claim the 200-yard butterfly top prize. She was also on the winning 400-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relay teams.
Juniata College
The Juniata men’s program broke six program records at last year’s meet. Hunter Mona became the first Juniata men’s swimmer at Landmark Championships to finish top-three in an event. Mona also re-broke the Juniata record in the 1650 freestyle touching the wall at 16:45.49 to claim third place.
The Juniata women’s swim team closed out the last year’s championship meet with their best team finish since 2012. The Eagles finished fifth with 218 points.
University of Scranton
In last year’s three-day event, the Scranton women’s team garnered 719 total points to finish as the runner-up. For the Royals, it marked the first time since the 2017 Landmark Championships that they registered a second-place finish as a team. It was also the sixth time in program history that Scranton has finished second at the event. Lauren Byrne set three individual conference records and one relay record. The Royals also return last year’s conference Diver of the Year Jeanna Gailius. Gailius won both the one-meter and three-meter dives a year ago.
On the men’s side, four-time all-conference selection Jack Donnelly returns for his senior campaign. Donnelly won the 100-yard breaststroke and was second in the 200 breaststroke. He was part of the second-place 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams.
