Hungary Captures Three Gold On Night 6 To Continue to Lead Medal Table At European Champs

Hungary came into tonight at the top of the medal table and did not look back, winning back to back events to start the night. World Record holder Kristof Milak struck first, winning the men’s 200 butterfly. Then, Petra Senanszky added to the medal tally winning gold in the women’s 50 free, swimming a new national record in the process. The country closed the night with another win, capturing gold in the mixed 4×200 free relay. That was their 3rd relay win of the week.

Israel added another gold to its tally this week as Anastasia Gorbenko won the women’s 200 IM in a 1-2 finish along with Lea Polonsky who grabbed silver. The team will also look for another gold tomorrow night as Ron Polonsky is the top seed in the men’s 200 IM.

Poland won its first gold medal of the week as Adela Piskorska won the women’s 100 backstroke. The team also won silver in the relay to add to their medals.

Turkey made history tonight as Emre Sakci won the country’s first ever European Title. Sakci won the men’s 50 breaststroke.
