PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women’s swimming and diving team delivered a dominant performance against Lehigh, defeating the Hawks 119.5-68.5.
Federica Nocera continued her strong season with two first-place finishes, winning the 50 Backstroke in 26.56 seconds and the 100 Freestyle in 52.48 seconds. Megan Ehrnfeldt took first place in the 100 IM with a time of 59.80. Brittany Corbett led the distance swimmers with a victory in the 400 Freestyle, clocking in at 3:59.59.
The relay teams also contributed to Drexel’s success, with the 200 Medley Relay team of Aldercy Bui, Emma Pillich, Elizabeth McDevitt, and Megan Ehrnfeldt winning with a time of 1:47.15. In addition, Liv Scherbin claimed first in the 50 Freestyle, touching the wall at 24.66.
Strong second-place performances included Harper Barrowman in the 400 Freestyle (4:00.25), Delaney Leonard in the 50 Freestyle (24.70), and Elizabeth McDevitt in the 50 Butterfly (26.48). Third place finishes from Emma Flickinger in the 400 Freestyle (4:21.54) and Mary Kubiak in the 50 Backstroke (27.82) wrapped up the meet.
The Dragons return to the pool on January 4 when the Dragons host Delaware.
PHILADELPHIA- The Drexel men’s swimming and diving team knocked off Lehigh 150-70 on Saturday morning.
Sebastian Smith got the meet started with a first-place finish in the 50 Freestyle, clocking in at 20.52, while Mohammed ElTayeb won the 150 Freestyle with a time of 1:14.04. Drexel’s 200 Medley Relay team of Dimi Gkelis, Bartosz Loter, Nathan Piccolo, and Petar Pavalic took first place with a time of 1:31.16. The mixed 200 Freestyle Relay team, featuring Theo Andreopoulos, Sebastian Smith, Megan Ehrnfeldt, and Delaney Leonard, also earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:28.54.
Diving was another highlight for Drexel, with Joshua Gratton sweeping the diving events. Gratton won the 1-meter event with a score of 283.80 and the 3-meter event with a score of 264.68, contributing crucial points to the Dragons’ total.
Notable second-place performances included Youssef Bahgat in the 150 Freestyle (1:14.09) and Dimi Gkelis in the 100 IM (52.85). The 200 Medley Relay team of Alessio Gianni, Kacper Karnik, Mohammed ElTayeb, and Colton Wade finished second with a time of 1:34.40.
The Dragons rounded the day with third-place finishes, including Andrea Casini in the 150 Freestyle (1:14.11) and Grady Potter in the 400 Freestyle (3:52.52).
The Dragons return to action on January 4 when the Dragons host Delaware.

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh women’s swimming and diving dropped a 119.5-68.5 loss to Drexel Saturday morning at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Mountain Hawks dropped to 5-3 on the season.
Lehigh recorded three first-place finishes on Saturday. Senior Willa Werwaiss and junior Mairin Ludwig continued their win streaks and have now racked up a win in every meet they competed in this season.
Werwaiss swam to a first-place finish in the 150-yard freestyle (1:24.70) and Ludwig tallied a first-place mark in the 300-yard IM (3:19.91).
First-year Zoe Davies was Lehigh’s other win on Saturday, recording a first-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.65).
The Mountain Hawks had three-four punch in the 50-yard freestyle as Claire Coughlin came in third (25.40) and Lily Van Der Sman tied for a fourth-place mark (25.73).
Lehigh also had a three-four-five punch in the 50-yard butterfly with Caitlin Deitch coming in third (26.59), Clara Moschella coming in fourth (26.59) and Annie Gao coming in fifth (26.89).
The Mountain Hawks were less than a second away from coming in first in the 200-yard medley relay as Moschella, Davies, Deitch and Anushree Ghate recorded a second-place finish with a time of 1:47.82.
Deitch and Ludwig also had a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle mixed relay (1:30.64) alongside men’s teammates Aaron Williams and Timmy Norris.
Lehigh will close out its non-league slate at Marist on Jan. 11.
PHILADELPHIA – First-year Jack Deppe set the school record in the 100-yard IM with a time of 52.02 in Saturday’s 150-70 loss to Drexel at Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Mountain Hawks fell to 4-4 on the season.
Deppe broke Glenn Lasco’s ’22 school record time of 52.23, which he set in 2018 Deppe’s school record time was enough for a first-place finish. Deppe was one of Lehigh’s two first-place finishes on Saturday. Jack DeVilbiss won the other individual event for Lehigh, punching a first-place mark in the 50-yard backstroke.
In addition to taking home first-place marks, Deppe and DeVilbiss also had second-place finishes. Deppe took home second place in the 300-yard IM (2:59.35), which was just 18 hundredths of a second off from a first-place finish. DeVilbiss came in second in the 50-yard freestyle (21.32).
Senior Connor Goodyear came in second in the 400-yard freestyle (3:43.29). Junior Ben Kisker tallied a second-place mark in the 50-yard backstroke (23.68). Senior Timmy Norris swam to a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (46.78).
Senior Diver Jack Grotke finished in third place in the three-meter dive with a score of 125.40 and third place in the one-meter dive with 159.90 points. Grotke was one point off in the one-meter dive from a second-place finish.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Kisker, DeVilbiss, Aaron Williams and Davis Woerner swam to a second-place finish, with a time of 1:31.86. Right behind them were teammates Deppe, Frankie Prekop, Jack Krause and Chase Bearley, who finished in third place, with a time of 1:33.06.
Aaron Williams and Norris also had a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle mixed relay (1:30.64) alongside women’s teammates Caitlin Deitch and Mairin Ludwig.
Next up, Lehigh will wrap up non-league competition at Marist on Jan. 11.
