Jack Bond from Chesapeake, Virginia has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Frostburg State University beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.

Bond swims for Tide Swim Team out of Virginia Beach, VA. Tide head coach Mike Salpeter spoke of Bond saying, “The growth and improvement he’s shown over the years has been inspiring, and I can’t wait to watch him continue to flourish at the collegiate level.”
In March, Bond competed at the Virginia Senior Championships. There he went numerous personal bests including the 200 free (1:45.79), 500 free (4:44.50), 1650 free (16:27.36), and 200 fly (2:02.36).
In February, Bond competed at the Virginia High School 6A Championships. The senior at Grassfield High School finished 16th in the 500 free (4:48.10).
Bond’s SCY best times:

- 1650 free: 16:27.36
Frostburg State is a Division II school in Frostburg, Maryland. The Frostburg State men finished third out of nine teams at the 2023 Great Midwest-Mountain East Conference Championships.
Bond has the potential to make a huge impact at the conference level. His best 500 and 1650 freestyle times would have been fifth this past season, and his best 200 free would have made the B final.
Bond will overlap with the team’s top distance freestyler Nate Canapp for two years as Canapp just finished up his sophomore season. Canapp was second in both the 500 and 1650 freestyles at the conference level.
Bond will arrive on campus this fall as a member of the class of 2027 along with Abe Bias, Dylan King, and Daniel Newton.
