Day 4 At The Paris Olympics: Non-Swimming Megathread

Day 3 of the Paris Olympics will feature competition in 26 sports. Medals will be awarded in eight sports on the day.

US Women Looking For Gold In Team All-Around Gymnastics

The US women are the highest returning team to the final for the team all-around gymnastics title. Russia won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games while the US won silver. Simone Biles notably tweaked her calf while warming up for competition already but is still entered in the lineup for all four events today.

South Korea And China Lead Shooting Medal Table

China and South Korea lead the shooting medal table through five events. China has three gold medals and one silver medal while South Korea has two gold medals and two silver medals. Today’s competition will feature another two events, the final of the mixed 10m air pistol event as well as the final of the men’s trap. Sheng Lihao of China became the first athlete in any sport to win two gold medals at the 2024 Olympics yesterday.

Women’s Rugby Sevens Semis and Finals Tomorrow

Four teams remain in the women’s rugby sevens event. New Zealand will take on the US while Canada will take on Australia in semifinals. The winners will go on to play for gold while the other two teams will play to win bronze. New Zealand notably won gold in Tokyo.

The only sports the Olympics should have is swimming, athletics, gymnastics and judo.

Triathlon cancelled today. The duathlon nightmare is getting closer. Thunderstorms are forecasted after the heat wave. If I were a triathlete I would pack and leave if a duathlon were to be imposed.
