Daniel Gracik Breaks Own Czech National Record With 51.40 100 Fly, Qualifies For Paris

Daniel Gracik of the Czech Republic broke his own national record as he swam to a 51.40 in the men’s 100 butterfly. The 19 year old’s previous record stood at a 51.69 that he swam at the end of May.

Gracik was faster on both of his 50 splits tonight, although his second 50 was a larger difference than the first.

With his swim, Gracik also got under the Olympic ‘A’ cut that stands at a 51.67 after previously just missing the mark. Gracik missed the podium here in the 100 fly but stood on the podium as he won bronze in the men’s 50 fly earlier in the meet. He just missed his National Record in that as he swam a 23.26 in finals.

Gracik also holds two more individual long course national records. He broke the 100 freestyle with a 48.93 at the AP London meet in May as well as the 50 fly (23.23).
