HANOVER, N.H. — The Columbia men’s swimming and diving team concluded the 2024-25 regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 181.5-118.5 victory over the Dartmouth Big Green in New Hampshire.
The 200 medley relay team got things started with a big win, as the team of Adam Wu, Demirkan Demir, Brian Lee, and Zion James clocked in with an impressive time of 1:31.11.
Wu had an amazing day, winning two individual events as well. First, he won the 200 free with a time of 1:41.48 and then he won the 200 back with a time of 1:48.96.
Demir also won two individual events, taking first in both breaststroke swims. He won the 100 breast with a time of 55.44 and then won the 200 breast with a time of 2:02.70.
Zach Vasser won the first individual event of the day, touching the wall first in the 1000 free at 9:27.63.
Samuel Eckert just edged out James in the 50 free by .03 seconds, winning with a time of 20.69.
After finishing second in the 1000 free, Stephen Zhukov won the 500 free with a time of 4:33.88.
Lee won the 100 fly with a time of 49.12.
Columbia closed out the meet as the team of Wu, Eckert, Beri Yang, and James won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:21.05. This was Wu’s fourth win of the day.

Now, attention turns to the Ivy League Championships which will begin on February 26 in Providence.

HANOVER, N.H. – Diving shined as the Dartmouth men’s swimming and diving team fell to Columbia on Saturday from Karl & Michael Spaulding Pools 180.5-119.5.
“We saw some good signs of progress at this meet with folks executing things in their races they’ve been working on in practice and also practicing showing up on deck with the energy of the team we want to be at the end of season. The divers sweeping both boards was a huge highlight and I’m very excited about how they are all progressing towards Ivies and Zones,” said Head Coach Milana Socha.
McCoy Lyman placed first in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter with scores of 334.95 and 369.15. His first-place finishes contributed to 1-2-3 finishes over Columbia in both events as well. On the 1-meter, Aryeh Lesch came in second with a score of 324.90 and Everett Tai had a score of 310.50 to finish third. On the 3-meter, Tai placed second with a 328.12 and Lesch came in third with a score of 326.92.
Lyman, Tai and Lesch all hit NCAA Diving Zone scores on the 3-meter dive and on 1-meter, Lyman and Lesch qualified for Zones. Lyman’s scores now place him third on the All-Time best list in the 3-meter and fifth on the 1-meter.
On the swimming side, Colton Rasmussen won the 100 back with a time of 49.68. He also placed first in the 100 free after going a 45.81.
Also in the 100 back, Xavier Orlic swam a lifetime best at a time of 53.20.
Jacob Turner won the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.83. He also placed first in the 400 IM after swimming a 4:00.11.
