College Bound: Where Are the 2018-19 NISCA Water Polo All-Americans Going?

With the 2019 collegiate men’s water polo season quickly approaching, SwimSwam combed the college rosters and signing releases to find out where the top 2018-19 high school players are headed.

Of the 58 seniors named to the NISCA All-American teams, 27 are currently listed on collegiate rosters. Nineteen of the 49 college water polo teams have not updated their rosters to include this year’s freshman class.

Thus far, seven schools have signed on two All-America honorees, while 10 others have brought in one 2018-19 NISCA All-America selection.

  • UCLA’s incoming class boasts two first team All-Americans in Chase Honaker (Dallas, Texas) and Jack White (Newport Beach, California).
  • Harvard signed first teamer Kaleb Archer (Clovis, California) and second team selection Gabe Putnam (Clovis, California).
  • Pacific has brought in first teamer Matt Hosmer (Santa Ana, California) and fifth team honoree Lewis Gale (Stockton, California).
  • Bucknell’s roster includes second team All-American Jeffrey Brill (Okemos, Michigan) and Nicolas De La Sierra (Greenwich, Connecticut).
  • Iona’s roster features second teamer Kyle Laufenberg (Greenwich, Connecticut) and sixth teamer Lester Machado (Hialeah, Florida).
  • UC Irvine brings on second teamer Jake Liecthy (Newport Beach, California) and sixth teamer James Meisenheimer (Orlando, Florida).
  • Fresno Pacific signed on third teamer Zach Zetz (Clovis, California) and fourth team selection Connor Schink (Clovis, California).
