BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell topped 13 of 14 events, defeating both Old Dominion and Gardner-Webb on Saturday at the Johnson Aquatic Center.
The Camels topped ODU 185.5-75.5 and GWU 191-68, picking up their first pair of dual wins this season. ODU also edged the Runnin’ Bulldogs 146-113. In other action, the Monarchs’ downed GWU on the men’s side 171-91.
Four Camels won two events on the day, including Kat Gagnon, who topped the 1000 free with a time of 10:43.46 and the 500 free with a 5:14.80 mark. Angelica Ragazzoni also won the 100 and 200 back, posting times of 57.44 and 2:06.89, with teammate Elishka Hajek finishing second in the 100 back (58.43).
Finishing first in the 100 and 200 breaststroke was Bella Butera with times of 1:06.17 and 2:25.42, while Izza Gaskey took runner-up in the 100 breast with a 1:06.24 mark. Meredith Ashburn also won a pair of events, finishing first in both the 100 free with a 52.49 mark, and the 100 fly with a 57.64.
Campbell also topped both relay events, taking the 200 medley relay (1:43.84) and the 400 free relay (3:35.43).
In the 200 free, Laura Lopez finished first with a time of 1:57.55, just ahead of Lauren McLean’s 1:58.25. McLean also won the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.45, with Shun Lim taking runner-up with a time of 2:11.18.
Finally, Piper Burton won the 200 fly with a 2:13.89 mark.
Next up, Campbell will continue its homestand on November 3, hosting East Carolina.

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Old Dominion Men’s Swimming team defeated Gardner-Webb, 171-91 and the Women’s team split the day defeating Gardner-Webb 146-113 and then falling to Campbell 185.5-75.5 on Saturday at Campbell.
The first event of the day was the women 200 medley relay and ODU placed second, Samantha Allred, Mary Dunworth, Martina Ciriesi and Lauren Masters finished with a time of 1:45.33.
In the men’s 200 medley relay Old Dominion took second and third. Gustaf Hansson, Bryce Mortimer, Russell Hronek and Dawson Truong took second with a time of 1:36. Ben Schattenberg, Toni Salluka, Jordan Davis and Brice Bounds took third with a time of 1:36.24.
Brynn Jewell took third in the women’s 1000 freestyle finishing with a time of 10:55.51.
In the men’s 1000 freestyle, Yagiz Ari took first with a time of 9:39.94 and Alexander Schreck took third with a time of 10:03.38.
Old Dominion took the top three spots in the men’s 200 freestyle. Grey Bremer took first with a time of 1:43.97, Ryan Lincicum finished in second with a time of 1:45.30 and Schattenberg placed third with a time of 1:45.33.
Ally Hilbrich placed third in the women’s 100 backstroke with a time of 58.81.
In the men’s 100 backstroke, Gustaf Hansson took first with a time of 51.89 and Jordan Davis placed second with a time of 53.58.
In the women’s 100 breaststroke, Dunworth took third finishing with a time of 1:07.16.
Mortimer took second place with a time of 58.92 and Truong took third with a time of 59.07 in the men’s 100 breaststroke.
In the women’s 200 butterfly, Jewell took third with a time of 2:14.92.
Jamie Cleaver took first in the men’s 200 butterfly with a time of 1:54.30.
In the men’s 50 freestyle, Hronek took third with a time of 21.91.
Masters took second place in the women’s 100 freestyle with a time of 54.08.
Cleaver took first with a time of 47.39 and Ryan Lincicum took second with a time of 47.96 in the men’s 100 freestyle.
In the women’s 200 backstroke, Hilbrich placed second with a time of 2:09.11.
In the men’s 200 backstroke, Schattenburg took first with a time of 1:55.80 and Hansson placed second finishing with a time of 1:57.29.
Ciriesi placed second in the women’s 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:27.36.
In the men’s 200 breaststroke, Mortimer took first with a time of 2:08.44.
In the men’s 500 freestyle, Ari took first with a time of 4:42.17 and Bremer finished in second with a time of 4:44.51.
Masters took second with a time of 58.85 and Tanya Yevminova placed third with a time of 59.78 in the women’s 100 butterfly.
Cleaver finished in first with a time of 50.35 in the men’s 100 butterfly.
In the women’s 200 IM, Yevminova placed third with a time of 2:11.81.
ODU took the top three spots in the men’s 200 IM. Mortimer took first with a time of 1:56.79, Schattenburg placed second with a time of 1:58.76 and Drew Vanden Heuvel finished in third with a time of 1:59.76.
In the men’s 400 freestyle relay, Cleaver, Truong, Bremer and Lincicum took first with a time of 3:09.15 and Hronek, Bounds, Alec Nolet and Davis placed third with a time of 3:13.26.
ODU is back in action next Friday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. in Charlotte, North Carolina for a tri-meet with Queens and Colorado State.

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb swimming team fell to Campbell University women’s side and Old Dominion University in a tri meet hosted by the Fighting Camels on Saturday, October 28 at the Johnson Aquatic Center. The men side was defeated for the first time this season.
In total, the ‘Dawgs found the podium in 19 events including the men winning the 200-yard medley relay with senior Landon Clark, freshman Justin Bender, junior John Cass, and freshman Nolan Patterson with a time of 1:35.64.
Freshman Slawka Ndubuisi won her fourth 50-yard freestyle race of the season (23.73), freshman Nolan Patterson won his third 50-yard freestyle race of the season (21.39), and junior Austin Wheeler won his first 100-yard breaststroke race of the season (58.89). Freshman Jacob Jensen also took a runner-up finish in the 50-yard free (21.69), just in front of teammate Patterson.
Gardner-Webb returns to competition on Wednesday, Nov. 15 through Friday, November 17, as it travels to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
