UC Santa Barbara has picked up a verbal commitment from Alyssa Lund of Walnut Creek, CA for its class of 2026. Both of her parents attended UCSB. Lund is a year-round swimmer for the Walnut Creek Aquabears and she is a senior at Northgate High School.

In 2019, Lund competed at the California CIF North Coast Section Championships as a freshman. She swam the 50 and the 100 free as well as two relays. She made it back in the B-final for both of her individual events, touching 16th in the 100 free and 13th in the 50 free. In finals, she moved up to 10th place in each, going a 24.22 in the 50 and a 52.91 in the 100.
Lund swam on Northgate High School 200 and 400 free relays, anchoring each one. She anchored the 400 free relay in a time of 52.80, with Northgate winning the B-final. She split a 50 free time of 23.22 on their 200 free relay, earning a silver medal. The relay team which also consisted of Maile Andresen, Caraline Levy, and Toria Stahl finished 0.04 seconds behind San Ramon Valley High School.
Throughout her high school career, she has earned recognition as an All-American and was nominated by the Diablo Athletic League coaches as an All-League swimmer.
In December of 2019, she swam at the Speedo Champions Series in East Los Angeles. She made it back in the A-final of the 50 free and the C-final of the 100 back. At the end of the meet, she brought home best times in the 50 free, 50 back, 50 fly, 100 back, and 100 fly.

Aside from swimming, Lund serves as the President of Teens and Parent Servies, a Bay Area volunteer organization that works with teens and mothers.
Lund is set to join the Gauchos in the fall of 2022.
