Emily Sykes of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania has made a verbal commitment to swim at the University of Tennessee beginning in the fall of 2017.
“I chose the University of Tennessee because the team and the coaches made me feel like I was already a part of the Vol family! The incredible facilities and amazing academic programs will help me improve in the pool and out. I can’t wait to be on Rocky Top! GO VOLS!!”
Representing Methacton High School at the 2016 PIAA Girls AAA State Championships, Sykes was runner-up in the 100 breast (1:02.73) and placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:03.86). In addition, Sykes swims year-round with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club. She had a successful 2016 Speedo Summer Junior Nationals, finaling in the 100m breast and 200m breast with PBs in both events. She also competed in the 200m IM.
