After deciding to join her fellow countrywoman Lotte Friis in Nice this November Danish swimmer Pernille Blume has decided to return home to Denmark and continue her training at the National Training Centre.

Blume who anchored the Danish 4 x 100 medley team that collected gold at the World Short Course Championships had been training with a group led by coach Fabrice Pellerin and included French world record holders Camille Muffat and Yannick Agnel.

In an interview with the Danish Swimming Federation Blume explained why she made the decision to return from France.

Blume stated that she was unsure if the training environment was right for her. She also found that there was a language barrier that was hard for her to overcome and although she was happy to be training with Friis, being only 19 she was far from all her friends.

She also says that she feels better now that the coaching situation at the NTC is settled and wants to give Shannon Rollason a chance.

Blume also shared that Rollason, who was hired as the Head Coach of the National Training Centre at the beginning of the month, has reached out to national team athletes asking for their feedback.
