Audrey Derivaux Posts Lifetime Best 2:11.53 200 IM To Close Indianapolis Sectionals

The girls side highlighted the night with the battle between Audrey Derivaux and Alex Shackell in the 200 IM. Derivaux earned the win with a 2:11.53 while Shackell was 2nd in a 2:13.03. Shackell won the previous night in the 200 fly. Shackell dropped half a second from her previous lifetime best of a 2:13.63 while Derivaux dropped over two seconds off her lifetime best of a 2:13.67.

After trading wins the last few nights, Aaron Shackell and Kieran Smith concluded competition in Indianapolis with a tie in the 100 freestyle. The two primarily swim the 200 and 400 free but showed their range here. Shackell has been as fast as 49.46 while Smith has a best time of a 48.46 that he swam during prelims for 9th at US Olympic Trials last summer.

Derivaux swam the event at US Trials last summer finishing 23rd in a 2:16.05. She finaled in the 400 IM finishing 8th. Her time today would have been 5th in the final of the 200 IM.

Jeremias Pock of the University of Indianapolis won the breaststroke events this week already and earned another win touching in a 2:00.97 in the 200 IM. The German native dropped from his lifetime best of a 2:01.69.

Louisville commit Julie Mishler won the 50 free already and earned another win touching in a 54.78 in the 100 free. That marked a huge personal best as her previous best time was a 55.56 that she swam at this meet a year ago.

Princeton commit Chloe Kim completed her distance free sweep after already winning the 400 and 800. She touched first in the 1500 free in a 16:41.15, dropping 9.74 seconds from her lifetime best. Jonathan Hines earned the win on the boys side in a 8:15.88.
