Several swimmers from southern California swam to top ranked times this season in their age groups at the SCS/TST February Senior Meet in Lake Forest, CA. The meet was held Feb. 11 to Feb. 13 and was conducted in the Long Course Meters format.

12-year old Aiden Yeo swam the fastest 100m fly of the season in the 11-12 age group at the meet. Yeo, who swims for Mission Viejo, swam a time of 1:01.23, which ranks 15th all time in his age group and is the fastest 100m fly in the 11-12 age group since 2019. Yeo improved over two-and-a-half seconds in the race from his seeded time.

Adelyn Lee, a 10-year old from Brea Aquatics, produced top ranked times in the 200m and 400m freestyles. She swam a 2:24.05 in the 200m, which is the fastest time this season in the 9-10 age group. Most meets have been short course yards so far, but her time would have still been good enough for the sixth fastest last season. Her time in the 400m was a 4:58.09, once again the fastest in her age group this season, and good enough for second fastest in the age group last season.

Avrum Xagorarakis, a 13-year old from Irvine Novaquatics, also had a fast 100m fly, finishing in 1:00.60. That time ranks seventh this season in the 13-14 age group, and is the second fastest by a 13-year old. In the 400 free, Xagorarakis produced the fifth fastest 13-14 time this season, swimming a personal best 4:17.79. The 13-year old swam a 17:02.34 in the 1500m free, also the fifth fastest this season in his age group.

He also demonstrated his versatility in the 400m IM and 50m free. In the IM, he swam the 11th fastest 400m IM in the 13-14 age group this season, finishing in a time of 4:54.51. His 25.89 in the 50 free is the 13th fastest this season in his age group.

Other Notable Swims

  • La Mirada Armada’s 13-year old Kayla Han swam the second fastest 50m free of the season in the 13-14 age group, finishing in a best time of 27.23. The time would have been the 60th fastest last season. Her 100m fly time of 1:03.69 is the fifth fastest this season, while last season it would have been good enough for 43rd.
  • 12-year old Toby Esposito, swimming for Blue Fin Aquatics, swam the fastest 1500m free in the 11-12 age group this season, finishing in a time of 18:09.58. Esposito dropped over 23 seconds in the race. His time would have ranked 11th last season in the 11-12 age group.
