MEN’S 200M BUTTERFLY – FINALS
2013 World Champion: Chad le Clos, RSA – 1:54.32
World Record: 1:51.51 – Michael Phelps, USA – 2009
Championship Record: 1:51.51 – Michael Phelps, USA – 2009
GOLD: Laszlo Cseh, HUN – 1:53.48
SILVER: Chad Le Clos, RSA – 1:53.68
BRONZE: Jan Switkowski, POL – 1:54.10
Laszlo Cseh held of Chad Le Clos to win the men’s 200 butterfly by .20 seconds. Cseh touched the wall at 1:53.48 ahead of Le Clos’ 1:53.68. The Bronze medal went to Jan Switkowski of Poland with a 1:54.10.
Masato Sakai of Japan just missed the podium with his time of 1:54.24. Viktor Bromer (DEN) was the final swimmer under 1:55, finishing fifth.
Daiya Seto and Louis Croenen finished sixth and seventh at 1:55’s, while American Tom Shields finished eighth at 1:56.17.
Um, meanwhile Jan swims what might be the best last 50 ever in a 200 fly, If he works on his front end speed he could be in for a gold.
his best, at 21 is 1:54.10, very good since phelps went only 1:53.80 at that age. Seriously, how does that happen after a 55 high first 100, he had a 58 high second 100
Awesome race!
Can’t wait for next year. Let see who wants it more!
What a champ 🙂
Where is Cseh getting this second life? He’s like a new man in Kazan.
Apparently he has a new coach and focuses more on fly now. Great decision!
Switkowski heading to Florida this fall
Laszlo is such a classy guy and genuinely nice, you can’t help but want him to win.
I would love to know who my “fan” is who almost always gives me the negative arrow. Come out come out where ever you are. Show your face, coward. LOL LOL LOL
Favorite storyline on the men’s side so far, he has incredible range in butterfly just like Chad.
I love how Le Clos kept cranking that dome of his towards Cseh. He must have be scared to death to see Laszlo go by him like that:)
WHAT A BEAST!!!!!
