BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Southern California remains No. 1 in the Division I ranks and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges retains the top spot among Division III teams after 15 weeks of varsity competition as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Week 15/April 26 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Princeton University remains at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I Top Five Poll, while Augustana College retains the lead position in the final CWPA Division III Top Five Poll of the season after capturing the league’s crown over the weekend.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season.
2023 WOMEN’S VARSITY NATIONAL TOP 25 (WEEK 15/APRIL 26)
The University of Southern California continues to roll on as the top team in the nation as the squad lead the 2023 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Week 15/April 26 Poll.
USC (100 points) remains a unanimous top pick and retains a four point lead over runner-up Stanford University (96 points) as Southern California holds the lead position for the third time in as many weeks after knocking off the previously top-ranked Cardinal three weeks ago.
The University of California-Los Angeles (92 points), the University of California-Irvine (87 points), the University of Hawaii (83 points), the University of California (81 points), Long Beach State University (76 points) and Fresno State University (68 points) also hang on at No. 3-to-8, while the University of Michigan (66 points) breaks a tie with Princeton University (64 points) to achieve sole custody of the No. 9 slot in completing the Top 10.
The University of California-Davis (55 points) inches up to No 11, the University of California-San Diego (54 points) and University of the Pacific (54 points) are deadlocked at No. 12, while the University of California-Santa Barbara (49 points) backs up to No. 14.
Indiana University (43 points), Arizona State University (38 points) and Loyola Marymount University (35 points) rate at No. 15-to-17, respectively, while Harvard University (32 points) and Wagner College (32 points) are tied at No. 18.
Brown University (26 points), San Jose State University (21 points), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (13 points), California State University-Northridge (12 points), San Diego State University (8 points) and Marist College (6 points) complete the Top 25.

2023 WOMEN’S VARSITY DIVISION III TOP 10 (WEEK 15/APRIL 26)
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continues at No. 1 in the Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Week 15/April 26 Poll for the 2023 season.
Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) remain at No. 1 and 2, while California Lutheran University (89 points) and the University of La Verne (85 points) trade the No. 3 and 4 berths.
The University of Redlands (74 points) gains company at No. 5 from Augustana College (74 points). Whittier College (71 points) – which was tied with Austin College (69 points) at No. 7 last week – acquires sole possession of the position.
Austin drops back to No. 8 with Macalester College (45 points) and Chapman University (41 points) switching at No. 9 and 10.

Princeton University continues at No. 1 in the 2023 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Week 15/April 26 Poll.
The Tigers (98 points) see their lead over the University of Michigan (97 points) remain at a single point as the Wolverines topped Princeton during the final weekend of regular season play. The poll disagrees with the National Top 25 as Michigan leads Princeton in that ranking.
Brown University (87 points) – which topped Harvard University (86 points) in the regular season finale over the weekend – leapfrogs the Crimson to take over at No. 3. Saint Francis University (82 points) completes the Top 5 by retaining the final position.

Augustana College wraps up the league season at No. 1 in the 2023 Week 15/April 26/Final Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Top Five rankings.
Augustana (100 points) – which defeated Austin College (95 points) by a 16-8 score over the weekend at Macalester College for the 2023 CWPA Division III Championship – is followed by Austin, Macalester (90 points) and Connecticut College (83 points) as the quartet retain the No. 1-to-4 slots.
Wittenberg University (82 points) concludes its tenure as a varsity program and the 2023 season by cracking the final CWPA Division III Top Five.
