The 2018 TYR Pro Derby will be held at the University of Louisville on April 28th, featuring a shootout style set of heats of 50 freestyle. The meet will have Sam Kendricks announcing, while 12-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte will emcee the meet.
Going hand-in-hand with the competition will be a drowning prevention clinic, to be held prior to the meet on April 26th. About 100 children who have no prior swimming experience are expected to attend the clinic, making it a beneficial event for the Louisville community.

Last year, Kristian Gkolomeev took the win on the men’s side with a 22.03, while Ranomi Kromowidjojo finished on top on the women’s side with a 24.58. The meet goes like this — first, eight male swimmers and eight female swimmers race in separate heats, where the top six advance. Then, the qualifying six race for both genders, with the top four qualifying to the next round. The third and final round will feature the fastest four swimmers from the second round, with prize money awaiting all four of them. Additionally, there will be a 12 & under bracket that will run in-between the Pro heats.
PRIZES:
