Summer Juniors Qualifier Anya Mostek (2022) Sends Verbal Commitment to Harvard

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Anya Mostek, a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Haverford, Pennsylvania, has verbally committed to the application process* at Harvard University. She will begin in the fall of 2022.

“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to the admissions process to swim and study at Harvard University! The team’s fun and supportive atmosphere, combined with its drive for excellence both in the pool and in the classroom, made this the school for me. Thank you to my family, friends, teammates and coaches for their tireless support. Go Crimson!!”

Mostek swims for The Baldwin School and Phoenixville Area YMCA Swim Team. She specializes in free, back and IM and is a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 100/200 back and 200 IM and a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 50/100 free. At the 2020 Eastern Interscholastics, she was runner-up in the 100 back (55.35) and placed 4th in the 200 IM (2:03.83), both of which were PBs at the time. Over the summer, she notched a PB in the 200 back (1:57.21) at TAC Titans Intra-squad. Mostek then competed at U.S. Open in Richmond, where she earned a trio of best times in the LCM 100 back (1:03.68), 200 back (2:19.63), and 200 IM (2:20.75).

Since the beginning of the year, Mostek has updated her times in the 200 free, 200 fly, and 400 IM at York Y Winter Invite; the 500 free, 100 breast, and 100 fly at YSCAP League Championships; and the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 back at YMCA Swimming Festival.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 back – 53.87
  • 200 back – 1:57.21
  • 200 IM – 2:00.59
  • 400 IM – 4:19.83
  • 50 free – 23.39
  • 100 free – 50.14
  • 200 free – 1:49.82
  • 500 free – 4:59.72
  • 100 breast – 1:04.59
  • 100 fly – 57.55
  • 200 fly – 2:07.71

Mostek will suit up for the Crimson with fellow class of 2026 verbal commits Elizabeth Brock and Sydney Lu.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
