COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina swimming and diving announced its 2020-21 schedule on Thursday. The Gamecocks have six regular season combined meets lined up, beginning with a home dual meet vs. Georgia on Friday (Oct. 23) at Carolina Natatorium.
It’s a split meet, with the women beginning at 10 a.m. ET and the men following at 2 p.m. ET. Carolina will have two competitions in November, then will be off until finishing the regular season with three meets in January.
“College athletics has seen so much uncertainty over the past months and we are excited to get the opportunity to race,” said head coach McGee Moody. “There have been so many people on our staff, in our department and at the SEC office that have worked tirelessly to make this happen for our athletes. Our schedule looks very different than in previous years, but our athletes are ready to race. We look forward to opening the season on Friday with Georgia coming to Columbia.”
The Gamecocks will be following strict guidelines with adherence to the SEC Medical Guidance Task Force Requirements for COVID-19 Management. There will be a pass list for family ONLY for home meets due to COVID-19. Face coverings will be required for everyone at the pool as well as regular testing for everyone on the pool deck.
The SEC Championship is currently slated to take place Feb. 16-20 in Columbia, Mo. at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. will play host to the 2021 NCAA Championships for zone b diving (March 9-10), women’s (March 17-20) and men’s (March 24-27).
