South Orange, N.J. – Seton Hall women’s swimming and diving earned a victory at home on Friday afternoon, taking down Monmouth by a final score of 145-59. Seton Hall was in control, winning 10 out of 11 events on the day.
The Pirates came out strong, winning the 400 Medley Relay to begin the day. Julie Stampe (Allerid-Birkerod, Denmark), Lea Moeller (New Lenox, Ill.), Sierra Cripps (Seymour, Conn.) and Natalie Heim (Middletown, N.J.) combined to touch the wall in 3:53.87, winning the race by nearly seven seconds.
The relay win was one of three on the day for Heim. She was also part of the 200 Free Relay team, as she along with Moeller, Josie McCartney (Verona, Wis.) and Leiya Istambouli (Danbury, Conn.) finished in a time of 1:37.60 to claim the top spot. Heim’s other win came in the 50 Free, where she swam a 23.80 which is the eighth-fastest in the event in program history.
Amanda Zajdzinski (Mesa, Ariz.) kept her strong start to the season going with two more first-place finishes. The junior took the top spot in the 200 Free with a time of 1:53.65 before winning the 100 Free in 52.92. Zajdzinski has now won freestyle events at four different distances this season, as she also took first in the 500 Free and 1000 Free in the season opener against Rider.
Cripps and Stampe would also add individual victories to their relay wins. Cripps swam the fastest in the 200 IM, notching a time of 2:11.67, while Stampe’s time of 57.84 in the 100 Back gave her first place.
South Orange, N.J. – Seton Hall men’s swimming and diving picked up a victory at home on Friday afternoon, defeating Monmouth by a final score of 136-69. The Pirates won nine out of 11 events on the day.
The 400 Medley Relay got the afternoon started, with the Pirates taking the top two spots. The relay team of Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.), Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.), Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) and Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) combined to touch the wall in a time of 3:22.99. Just behind them was the quartet of Bryant LaCroix (Bloomsburg, Pa.), Justen Lopez (Levittown, N.Y.), Justin Oosterwyk (Pequannock, N.J.) and Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.), who finished in second with a time of 3:26.38.
Klimaszewski’s relay win was one of three victories he was a part of on the day. The freshman was part of another relay win in the 200 Free Relay, as well as an individual win in the 200 Free. Pantano and Langenbusch also had individual wins in addition to their relay victories, taking the top spot in the 200 IM and 500 Free, respectively. The Pirates took each of the top three positions in the 200 IM, with Lopez grabbing second and Shayne Simmons (Danbury, Conn.) taking third.
Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.) picked up his second win of the season, claiming the top spot in the 100 Free in a time of 46.53. Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.), Gennarino Conzemius (Bethel Park, Pa.) and Oosterwyk each notched their first individual wins of the season, winning the 1000 Free, 100 Fly and 100 Breast, respectively.
In the diving portion of the day, Trevor Post (Bay City, Mich.) recorded the highest score in both the 1M and 3M dive. The sophomore posted a score of 268.8 in the 1M before putting up a 306.15 in the 3M.
The Pirates have a quick turnaround as they are right back in action on Saturday at 12 p.m. as they host La Salle.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Monmouth University men’s and women’s swimming teams lost their respective dual meets to in-state foe Seton Hall on Friday afternoon at Imperatore Natatorium.
The men’s team lost to the Pirates, 136-69, while the women’s setback was 145-59.
Blake Reynolds, Callan Smith and Jensen Ritter each won individual races to lead Monmouth’s effort.
MEET NOTES
– Blake Reynolds hit the wall in 20.92 to win the 50-yard freestyle. Reynolds claimed his 26th career victory and second this season.
– Jensen Ritter placed first in the 100-yard butterfly, winning in 59.42. Ritter won her second race of the season and seventh of her career.
– Callan Smith won a race for his third straight meet by winning the 100 back in 50.57. Smith now has five wins this year and 78 for his career.
