Oklahoma Baptist junior Daniel Ramirez, originally from Hermosillo, Mexico, broke the meet record in the 100 back for the second year in a row at the 2014 NAIA National Championships. Last year he went 47.61 to claim the title and the record; this year he dropped another 1.3 seconds to reset the mark at 46.28.
Ramirez looked strong from the outset and used his underwater strength off all four walls to gain an edge over the rest of the field. This was his second meet record of the night; he had already won the 100 fly in a record-breaking 46.13.
Wow, it is impressive what Daniel Ramirez Carranza does with his under-waters, it was great to see him swim on all Prelimins and Final events at Arena Pro Swim Series ate Mesa a couple weeks ago. He just broke the 50 seconds barrier on 100 free this past weekend, great things are coming for this dedicated athlete……
