After winning their first team title last year, the Pullman High School boys repeated as Washington (WIAA) 2A state champions after winning half of the events (6/12) on the schedule.

Leading the way for Pullman was junior Ben Madson, who went a perfect four-for-four with two individual wins and contributing to two relay titles.

Madson took out a five-year-old 2A meet record in the 100 back, firing off a time of 48.61 to lower the 2019 mark of 48.79 set by Timothy Gallagher. The swim for Madson inched past his lifetime best of 48.70, set at the 2023 Winter Juniors – West in December.

Madson also won the 50 free in a PB of 20.83, narrowly missing the 2A record of 20.76 set by Josh Bottelberghe in 2018.

Madson also opened the meet with a 22.62 lead-off leg on the 200 medley relay, the fastest split in the field by three seconds as Pullman won the event in a time of 1:34.47 with contributions coming from Jake McCoyWilliam Miller and Zaine Pumphrey.
