NCAP Girls Break Their Third NAG Relay Record of the Meet in 800

The 15-18 girls of the Nation’s Capital Swim Club have broken their third National Age Group Relay Record of the meet at the 2013 USA Swimming Winter National Championships. Maybe what’s most impressive about their run this weekend is that they’ve used 7 different swimmers to do it, all under the age of 18 – showing off the impressive depth of the multi-site, mega team that NCAP has become.

Robyn Dryer (16), Katie Ledecky (16), Megan Byrnes (15), and Janet Hu (17) combined for a 7:09.89. That destroyed the National Age Group Record of 7:13.03. The old record was set back in 2010 by a North Baltimore Aquatic Club relay of Liz Pelton, Willa Wang, Natalie Beale, and Camryne Morris.

The NCAP splits were:

Dryer – 1:49.54
Ledecky – 1:44.17
Byrnes – 1:50.15
Hu – 1:46.03

A full recap of day 2 of the meet can be seen here.
