From Pennsylvania, where she swims for the Reading and Berks County YMCA, Ella Kahn has announced that she will be joining the Liberty University Flames this fall.

Kahn will be joining a Liberty program that is coming off its third straight CCSA conference title, although their 2021 title came in a tie with Florida Gulf Coast. While the 50 freestyle was a weak point for the Flames, with only one top-8 finisher and a 5th place finish in the 200 free relay, the 100 and 200 freestyles were strong for the team. Liberty won the 800 free relay, and took second in the 400 free relay following a huge drop from their seed time. The sprint group was led by senior Payton Keiner last year who will have graduated prior to Kahn’s arrival. Instead, she will have three years of overlap with the team’s second-fastest in the 100 free, Abby Strohmeier. Strohmeier was also a part of a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free at the CCSA Championships in 2021, with both of the girls who finished ahead of her set to return as well.
With her best times, Kahn would have qualified for the C-final of the 50 free, 200 free, and 100 breast at the 2021 CCSA Championships.
