Rio 2016 Olympic gold medalist Kelsi Worrell of the University of Louisville threw out the first pitch at Citizens Bank Park in this afternoon’s Phillies game versus the St. Louis Cardinals.

This isn’t Worrell’s first experience throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game; in April of 2015, she did the same for her Louisville Cardinals in a game versus the University of Kentucky. Maybe it’s just her new Olympian status, but her form has definitely improved over the last year.
Last week in Rio, Worrell scored an Olympic gold by swimming in the semifinals of the women’s 4 x 100 medley relay, taking on the fly leg alongside Olivia Smoliga (backstroke), Katie Meili (breaststroke), and Abbey Weitzeil (freestyle). The semifinals team finished in 3:54.67. In finals, Kathleen Baker, Lilly King, Dana Vollmer, and Simone Manuel scored 3:53.13 to bring home the gold. The prelims relay’s time would have also been fast enough for the win. The silver-medal Australian team took second in 3:55.00
The Cardinals scored four home runs tonight to secure a 9-0 win over the Phillies.
Olympic finalist Kelsi Worrell thrrew the first pitch. A Chinese swimmer, Chen Xinyi, who placed 4th, tested positive for a banned substance. This moved Worrell into the top 8.
Doping is not a victimless crime. Protect the clean athletes.
I guess she didn’t stay for closing ceremonies. I know everyone is different but if I was an Olympian I would try to soak in all the Olympic experience. Do my best in my event or events and once those are done enjoy some other events and enjoy the closing ceremonies.
She might have had other things to do like get ready for school or something.
