The Role

What you will do the first 90 days

  • Provide end-user support for IT-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of computers and software for new employees.

Responsibilities:

The individual selected for this full-time position needs to be experienced in the day-to-day operations of a swim club, self-motivated, and organized. Duties:

Swimmer and Team Development:

Must have basic knowledge of the objectives and principles of public recreation, including an understanding of activities that comprise a community recreation program. Experience in aquatic lessons and program planning. Knowledge of proper water chemical balance and equipment needed in managing an Aquatic area and Water Park. The assistant coach’s responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all duties involved in running a competitive Division III program. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of stroke mechanics and training techniques. This candidate will also be able to communicate effectively and timely with the coaching staff, swimmers and parents as needed.

Duties for the coach include, but are not limited to: 

*Motivating swimmers of all ages to be great in a positive way

*Developing and implementing a seasonal plan for the Mako and Lemon Shark groups.

*Assisting with Pre-Senior, Senior and other groups as needed

*Meet administrative duties include, but are not limited to, verifying and sending entries for

away meets in a timely manner, Entry Chair for 3 home meets and eventual home meet

setup following some training.

*Attending staff meetings as scheduled

*Attending swim meets locally and out of state (Indiana and Kentucky mostly). 2-3 per

month

*Attending Sharks’ team functions (Banquet, JO Party, etc.)

*Assisting in recruiting and attending swim clinics at local summer league pools in the

area. (June-July only)

*Must have, or obtain prior to start date, all relevant USA Swimming coach certifications

(Adult & Pediatric/Child CPR and AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA

Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection Training)

*Must pass Washington Township Background Check

*Preferred, 2 years USA/YMCA coaching experience with 10 and Under

Swimmers

* Preferred, 1-2 years experience with Team Unify, Team Manager, and/or Meet Manager software.

The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach is responsible for working closely with the Head Coach on managing and administering phases of these varsity intercollegiate sport programs. Job Duties:

Coaching Responsibilities (40%)

Lead training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Perform specific coaching responsibilities during athletic events. Scout and recruit quality student-athletes under the guidance and direction of the Head Coach. Be responsible to identify, cultivate, and assess for a specific geographical area or position group.

Student Athlete Services (20%)

Demonstrate an active interest in the academic progress of student-athletes. Work closely with all appropriate departmental personnel to assure academic success of student-athletes. Work with student-athletes to monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance, and behavior. Provide individual counseling to student-athletes when individual counseling to student-athletes when appropriate, and direct the student-athlete to professional staff when needed. Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree

2. Prior experience coaching or competing at the collegiate level (preferably with success at a comparable institution)

3. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications

4. Valid US driver’s license
