Morgan Croaning will join Ohio University’s women’s team beginning in the fall of 2020.
Carmel Swim Club’s Morgan Croaning has verbally committed to swim for Ohio University’s class of 2024. She announced, “I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Ohio University! I want to thank everyone who has been there for me along this journey! #GoBobcats”.
At the 2018 SE NAC Speedo Music City Invitational, Croaning competed in the A-final in the 500 free, 200 fly, and 400 IM. She took home the gold medal in the 200 fly, swimming her second fastest time, after a new personal best in prelims (2:04.38). She also placed 8th in the 500 (5:14.89) and 6th in the 400 IM (4:33.84), only 0.07 seconds off her best time.
In January 2019, Croaning earned her first 2019 Futures cut in the 100 fly at the Indiana Winter Invitational. She was taking part in a swim-off for the final spot of the C-final. Croaning charged into the wall 1.03 seconds ahead of her opponent, earning a best time and qualifying for Futures.
As a junior at Carmel High School, Croaning finished 6th in the 500 free in the finals at IHSAA Girls State Championship. She dropped 1.5 seconds from the week before, going sub-5 minutes for the first time. Her individual points contributed to Carmel’s 2019 team title at the meet.

When she joins the team on campus, Croaning will be the 3rd fastest 500 freestyler behind Hannah Schlegel and Maddie Haschemeyer. She will be the second fastest 100 flyer, right behind Kendra Sheehan and the second fastest in the 200 fly behind Sam Glass. In the fall of 2020, Croaning will be joining back and free sprinter Abbie Duncan and fly/IMer Gabrielle Brust.
