Granville, Ohio, native Gabrielle Brust will keep her talents inside the Buckeye state after committing to swim for Ohio University beginning in the fall of 2020.
Brust was 10th in the 100 fly (55.51) at the Ohio State High School Division I Championships in Canton in February 2019. The Watkins Memorial High School junior also was 11th in the 100 back (57.12).
As a sophomore, Brust was fifth in the 100 fly (55.33) and 10th in the 100 back (56.78). As a rookie in 2017, she was 12th in the 100 back (57.09).
Brust has qualified for 2019 Winter Juniors in the 100 fly (55.33) and reached 2019 Futures standards in the 100 back (56.65), 200 IM (2:06.27) and 400 IM (4:30.35).
Brust, who competes for the Pau Hana Swim Team, competed at the ISCA Junior Nationals in March, finishing fourth in the 50 fly (28.53) and 100 fly (1:03.02), eighth in the 50 back (31.75) and 12th in the 200 back (2:26.27).

Brust’s best 100 fly time would rank tied for 10th all time at Ohio, but would have been just the third fastest on the team in 2018-19, behind senior Corrin Van Lanen (53.07) and Kendra Sheehan (54.16).
Her top 100 back time would have ranked behind freshmen Athena Aravantinou (55.77) and Sheehan (55.93).
