Grace Koenig-Song Breaks Another NAG Record, This Time In The 13-14 50 Breaststroke (27.98)

2025 NCSA Spring Swimming Championships

NASA Wildcat Aquatics’ 14-year-old, Grace Koenig-Song, demolished her lifetime best in the 50-yard breaststroke on her way to setting a new national age group (NAG) record for 11- and 12-year-old girls on Thursday night.

Competing at the NCSA Spring Championships in Orlando, Koenig-Song notched a time of 27.98 to scrape under Zoe Skirboll‘s 2019 NAG record of 27.99 by 0.01.

Koenig-Song entered this week’s meet with a personal-best time of 28.35, set at the Wisconsin MAC A3 Performance Invite in November. She sent a warning shot with a 28.23 in the prelims before clocking the record-breaking swim in the final.

Koenig-Song placed 4th in 100 breast final on Wednesday, hitting a time of 1:00.68, which put her in the top-10 all-time in the 13-14 rankings at 7th. Her previous best time sat at 1:01.32, so she’s making some big leaps forward this week.

The NASA Wildcat swimmer is also the 11-12 National Age Group Record holder in the 100 breast. She swam as one of the youngest competitors at the 2024 US Olympic Trials, finishing in 37th place in the 100 breast.
