Lincoln – The Nebraska swimming and diving team joined forces for a 47-21 win over a collection of 17 former Huskers in the 13th annual Alumni Meet on Saturday at the Devaney Natatorium.
The 2016-17 Huskers swept the competition in the pool, beginning with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Senior Erin Oeltjen added a win in the 50-yard butterfly, before freshman Tori Beeler claimed victory in the 50-yard backstroke.
Junior Jordan Ehly notched a win in the 50-yard breaststroke, while freshman Allie Worrall won the 50 freestyle.
Beeler closed out the individual competition with her second victory of the day in the 100-yard IM, before helping the Huskers complete the sweep with a win in the 200 free relay.
In the well, former Husker diver Fernando Ray-Castro served as a guest judge of the competition, which did not include degree of difficulty as part of the criteria. In a team format, the oldest Husker alumni won the diving event, while current Huskers finished second and recent alumni finished third.
Nebraska opens 2016-17 regular-season competition next Saturday, Oct. 8, when the Huskers travel to Ames to take on Iowa State. Action begins against the Cyclones at 11 a.m.

How in the world does the 200 Free Relay go 1:17.02? This article states the 50 free was won with a 24.74, and i’m supposed to believe the 200 free relay averaged under 20 seconds each? Why weren’t these girls competing at Rio!???
The first three went 24/23/23, Beeler went 7.
