Swimmer of the Week
Crystal Florman, Senior, Northern Iowa (Mason City, IA)
Florman had a successful weekend in the pool in dual meets against Nebraska and Nebraska-Omaha, grabbing three individual first-place finishes, in addition to a pair of relay wins. The senior also finished as runner-up in one individual event and two relay swims. Against Nebraska, Florman led all swimmers in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.66 seconds, and in the 100 free (52.12). Both of those marks lead the MVC this season. In the meet against Omaha, Florman took the top spot in the 100 free (52.48) and finished second in the 200 free (1:55.33).
Diver of the Week
Elle Christie, Freshman, Indiana State (Ballwin, MO)
In the first collegiate meet of her career, Christie broke the Indiana State school-records in both the one and three-meter springboard against Illinois-Chicago on Friday. Christie recorded a score of 254.03 in the one-meter and a score of 267.98 in the three-meter en route to a second place finish in both events. She currently owns the third overall score in the Missouri Valley Conference in the three-meter and is fourth in the one-meter.

Swimmers:
Samantha Parsons, Junior, Southern Illinois (Montreal, Canada)
In last weekend’s season opening dual meet against McKendree, Parsons led the team with three first place finishes in the 100-breast (1:07.07), 200-breast (2:23.89) and 200-medley relay (1:48.89).
Lea Zengerling, Freshman, Little Rock (Erfurt, Germany)
Zengerling posted a trio of runner-up finishes for the Trojans in a dual meet against North Texas. The freshman came in second in the 200 free (1:56.76), 200 back (2:08.60) and the 100 free (59.88).
Libby Howell, Sophomore, Missouri State (Bixby, OK)
Howell garnered two individual runner-up titles for MSU in the 200 freestyle (1:51.12) and the 500 freestyle (5:00.46) at the Missouri Show-Me Showdown. Her team finished second overall in the event with 511.50 points. She also previously competed in the CSCAA Open Water Championships in September and placed 27th with a time of 1:06:30.96. The Bears earned the sixth best score out of 14 schools competing.
Kendall Hansen, Junior, Indiana State (Wildwood, MO)
Hansen had a big weekend for the Sycamores, helping the team take down Illinois-Chicago at home by winning the 100-yard backstroke with a time 56.93 and the 200-yard backstroke at 2:03.13, both of which are Vigo County Aquatic Center pool records. She was also a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay team, as well as the 400-yard freestyle relay team. Then, on Saturday against Olivet Nazarene Hansen once again claimed victory in the 200-yard backstroke while also winning the 200-yard freestyle. She currently sits in second in the Missouri Valley Conference in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.
