Aussie label Funky Trunks has its new swimming king! US-based Caribbean swimmer, Elvis Burrows has signed with the brand as it launches its latest collection at SwimOutlet.com and pumps out a very cool GoPro video to go with it (check it out below). Elvis is renowned for getting his gear off which makes him the perfect fit for the outlandish prints that have become synonymous with Funky Trunks.
After moving to the US at 11, Elvis took to sprint freestyle after winning a state championship title while at high school in Kentucky. He went on to be coached by former Olympian Gary Conelly and earned two All-American honours at the NCAA Championships. He made his international debut at the Beijing Olympics representing The Bahamas in the 50 metres freestyle. At the 2009 FINA World Championships he set four national records.
Having competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and currently competing at the Central American and Caribbean Games, Elvis has his sights set on the 2015 World Championships in Russia. After missing the London Olympics by four one-hundredths of a second, Elvis is adamant he will be back representing The Bahamas at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Not one to shy away from attention Elvis is excited to spread the word about Funky Trunks to other swimmers on pool deck. “I first noticed Funky Trunks last year and the prints are out there. It’s the best training gear I’ve worn and brightens up every session. I wouldn’t be seen in anything else at the pool now. I’m so excited to work with such an awesome Aussie company.”
The new collection from Funky Trunks and Funkita (for the gals) is now available from SwimOutlet.com. Before you head over there, check out the Funky Trunks and Funkita GoPro video put together by the sponsored F-Team athletes of the brands. It goes off, just like these Funky Trunks!
Those Funky Trunks prints are awesome! Go Elvis.
