Filip Senc-Samardzic from Toronto, Canada has announced his verbal commitment to Arizona State University for 2023-24.

A free/fly specialist, Senc-Samardzic represented Canada at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships. He finished fifth in the 100 fly (53.82) and sixth in the 100 free (51.04), then led off the 4×100 free relay in 50.78. He also swam in prelims of the 50 free, 200 free, and 200 IM. A month earlier, he won every event he competed in at the Ontario Summer Championships: 50/100/200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM.
Recently, he earned short course meters PBs in the 200 free (1:53.75) and 50 fly (24.45) at the Toronto stop of the FINA World Cup.
Senc-Samardzic will join the Sun Devils’ class of 2027 with Ilya Kharun (#3), Asher Havenhill, Caleb Stanley, Leo Kurucz, Leo Roden, Quinlan Gould, and Will Woodall. Arizona State has a deep bench in the 100 free/100 fly, led by sophomore Léon Marchand, who has already gone 42.53/45.68 this season. He’ll also overlap with Alex Colson, Owen McDonald, Jack Dolan, and Patrick Sammon.
