Brendan Richichi commits to United States Air Force Academy

Arlington Aquatic Club’s Brendan Richichi has made his college decision, as he’s announced his verbal commitment to swim for the United States Air Force Academy next fall. Richichi will be making the move to USAFA from Alexandria, Virginia, where he’s currently a senior at Saint Stephens & Saint Agnes School.

“Beyond excited to announce that I have verbally committed to swim at the United States Air Force Academy. I owe a huge thanks to my family and all my friends who helped me along the way. You know who you are. Can’t wait to be where the air is rare! Go Falcons! AIM HIGH!”

Last season, Richichi was a finalist at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Championships, where he placed 7th in the 100 breast. He was also a 2-time finalist at the Washington Prep School League Championships, winning a silver medal in the 100 breast and placing 7th in the 200 IM.

Richichi’s Top Times:

  • 100 breast- 56.60
  • 200 breast- 2:06.36
  • 50 free- 22.24
  • 100 fly- 53.18
  • 200 fly- 1:57.92
  • 200 IM- 1:58.27

Richichi will be joining an Air Force team that just won their first ever WAC conference title during the 2015-16 season. His times indicate that he could be an immediate factor for the Falcons at the WAC meet, as his time in the 100 breast is already fast enough to have made the C-final, and is just 2 hundredths from what it took to make the B-final.
