Day 5 of the 2024 French Elite Championships/Olympic Trials saw additional names inserted onto the nation’s roster for next month’s Games in Paris.
Russian-turned-French swimmer Anastasia Kirpichnikova clocked a result of 8:26.38 to add the women’s 800m free to her Olympic program, one which already includes the 400m free and 4x200m free relay.
Then, in the men’s 50m free, both Florent Manaudou and Maxime Grousset sealed the deal, with the speedy duo clocking times of 21.54 and 21.67, respectively, to notch the event into their lineups.
Finally, Mewen Tomac established a new French national record of 1:55.54 to take the men’s 200m back event in an Olympic-worthy outing. Behind him was Yohann Ndoye-Brouard who posted 1:56.48 to also join the Paris party.
