Siena Swimming and Diving Inks Five

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena Swimming and Diving Head Coach Paul Kueterman has announced the addition of five to his roster for the 2016-17 season. All five members of the class hail from different states.

“I definitely look forward to working with this incoming class,” said Kueterman. “They will make an impact immediately in dual meets and at the MAAC championships, be wonderful additions to the Siena community and will help continue to build upon the success of Siena Swimming and Diving.”

New York native Carrie Bonvissuto comes to Siena as a multi-year state qualifier from Garden City High School. She also earned multiple All-County selections as well as qualifying for the USA Swimming Sectionals.

“Carrie is a very strong swimmer and will make an immediate impact within our program and the conference in the middle distance and distance events,” said Kueterman.

A Brookfield High School record holder in three different events, Rachel Brown comes to Siena by way of Connecticut. She qualified for the Connecticut M Championship all four years and was a two-time 100 freestyle champion as well as being the 2014 200 freestyle champion.

“Rachel has been a very successful swimmer,” said Kueterman. “She will be a strong competitor at the conference meet in the freestyle events as well as a huge addition to our relays.”

The third member of the incoming class, Alyssa Lewis, matriculates to Siena from Wilmington High School in Ohio. She qualified for YMCA Nationals from 2012-2014 and was an Ohio High School state meet qualifier 2013-15. In 2015, Lewis was named the SCOL Champion in both the 50 and 100 Free.

“Alyssa is a talented sprinter,” Kueterman noted. “She has a great attitude and wonderful work ethic. I know she will be a huge piece to our swim/dive program and I look forward to working with her during her time at Siena.”

Katie Ludwicki joins the Siena team following a high school career at Immaculate Heart Academy in Northvale New Jersey, as well as for the Phoenix Aquatic Club. She was a member of the Eastern Zone Swim Team and a Junior Olympic Qualifier. At Immaculate Heart Academy, she was part of the 200m Free Relay that broke the meet record at the Bergen County Championship.

“Katie will be a great addition to the butterfly, backstroke and freestyle events,” Kueterman stated. “She will come in and contribute right away in dual meets and at the MAAC Championship. I look forward to watching her compete in college.”

The final member of the class is Indiana native Larissa Nanna. At Carroll High School, she was an IHSAA sectional champion in the 100 Yard Breaststroke as well as a member of the 200 Yard Medley Relay team that won sectionals in 2015 and 2016. While at Carroll, the team won the IHSAA sectional team championship in 2015 and 2016. Nanna also competed with the Three Rivers Aquatic Club.

“Larissa has had a great high school and club swimming career,” said Kueterman. She will be a very strong swimmer for us in relays, breaststroke and IM events. She is very dedicated and wants to be successful and I look forward to working with her.”

These five will join a team which finished fifth in the MAAC Championship for the third straight season and captured the program’s first ECAC Championship.
