Maya Novack, a senior at Cedarburg High School in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, has committed to swim for the United States Naval Academy beginning in the fall of 2020. Novack specializes in sprint freestyle and has placed 3rd in both the 50 free and 100 free at the Wisconsin Division 1 State Swimming and Diving Meet in each of the last two years. As a senior she went 23.49/51.20; the year before she had finished with 23.66/51.35.
Novack swims year-round for Ozaukee Aquatics. She competed at Wisconsin Swimming Senior State Championships in March, finaling in the 50 free (12th), 100 free (7th), and 200 free (23rd). Last summer, she wrapped up long course season at the Wisconsin LSC Senior State Championships. She made finals in the 50 (13th), 100 (25th), and 200 (20th) free and notched PBs in the 100/200/400 free, 100 fly and 200 IM.

Novack will join the Midshipmen class of 2024 with Cameron Horner, Gabi Baldwin, Grace Hastings, and Syd Paglia. Her best times would have scored in the B finals of the 50 free and the 100 free at 2020 Patriot League Championships. She will find an excellent training group waiting for her in Annapolis with A-finalists Martina Thomas, Sarah Sorensen, Katie Corbi, Brooke West, and Ali Kozlina.
