York and York YMCA breaststroker Jessie McMurray will swim for the Aztecs beginning in the fall of 2020.
Jessie McMurray of Felton, PA has announced her verbal commitment to swim at San Diego State University beginning in the 2020-2021 season.
“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career for San Diego State class of 2024! Thank you to Coach Shrader and his wife, Coach Allnutt, and the Aztec swimmers for showing me what a great family I’m about to join! Can’t wait to be repping the black and red!”
The York and York County YMCA breaststroker recently won two national YMCA titles at the YMCA Long Course National Championships in College Park, MD. Jessie’s first victory came in the 50m breast where she set a meet record with a time of 32.49. She then took the title in the 100m breast after finishing in 2nd in prelims behind Victoria Eisenhauer. Jessie’s time of 1:11.67 just narrowly missed the national record of 1:11.26, set my by KC Moss is 2009.
At the high school level, Jessie swims for York Catholic High School. This year she competed at the PIAA State Championships in the 100 breast, finishing in 3rd.

Jessie will be joining breaststroke and IMer Mai McKenna in the fall of 2020. The two women are the team’s first recruits and will likely train breaststroke alongside one another.
