Women’s 200m Butterfly
- Emily Large – 2:07.00 BRITISH JUNIOR RECORD
- Keanna MacInnes – 2:10.40
- Maggie MacNeil – 2:10.44
Emily Large managed to take down the 2:07.21 British Junior record that she set in the heats with a time of 2:07.00 in order to win the championship final. Second was Scottish swimmer Keanna MacInnes in 2:10.40.
Magie MacNeil from the London Aquatic Club was just out-touched for the silver, settling for bronze in a time of 2:10.44.
Men’s 200m Butterfly
- Joe Litchfield – 1:57.02
- Emil Goin – 2:00.26
- Ray Yang – 2:01.33
Joe Litchfield took down his competitors by over three-seconds in order to win the men’s 200m butterfly in 1:57.02. There was a very discernible difference between first, second, and third as Emil Goin clocked in at 2:00.26 for second.
Etobicoke’s Ray Yang managed to touch third in 2:01.33, beating fourth place finisher Samuel Paquin by over two seconds.
Women’s 100m Backstroke
- Danielle Hanus – 57.56
- Kayla Sanchez – 58.55
- Danika Huizinga – 59.27
Danielle Hanus, who now trains out at the High Performance Centre – Victoria but represents her home club of Newmarket, dropped a 57.56 best time to take home the win here in Toronto.
Her closest competitor was almost a second behind her. Kayla Sanchez, who now trains at the High Performance Centre – Ontario, was a 58.55 at the touch to claim the silver. Danika Huizinga, Sanchez’s old training partner, was third in 59.27.
Men’s 100m Backstroke
- Elliot Clogg – 53.43
- Brodie Williams – 53.60
- Loic St-Martin – 54.68
It was complete British domination in the men’s 100m backstroke. Elliot Clogg bettered his own British Junior record with a swift time of 53.43 to win the gold. Second was Brodie Williams, also from over seas, going a 53.60 to just fall short of the win.
CAMO’s Loic St-Martin ran in for third in 54.68. Graysen Bernard won the consolation final of the men’s 100m backstroke in a new 13-14 NAG record time of 55.96.
Women’s 400m Freestyle
- Mary-Sophie Harvey – 4:02.23
- Freya Anderson – 4:05.69
- Mackenzie Padington – 4:07.07
It took a senior Canadian national record for 17-year-old Mary-Sophie Harvey to win the women’s 400m freestyle, dropping a total of 13-seconds off her entry time.
Freya Anderson was second, beating the British Junior Record with a 4:05.69 performance. Mackenie Padington was a 4:07.07 for third.
Men’s 400m Freestyle
- Rafael Davila – 3:45.39
- Alexander Pratt – 3:48.43
- Josh Zakala – 3:50.45
Rafael Davila won the men’s 400m freestyle by a wide margin, touching first in 3:45.39 over two seconds faster than second place finisher Alexander Pratt. Pratt was a 3:48.43 to claim second ahead of Josh Zakala. Zakala’s 3:50.45 was good enough for third.
Women’s 50m Freestyle
- Rebecca Smith – 24.94
- Kayla Sanchez – 25.21
- Maggie MacNeil – 25.73
After dipping under 25-seconds in the 50m freestyle for the first time this morning with a 24.80 performance, Rebecca Smith was back under 25 with a swift 24.94 to take home the gold.
Smith, who now trains at the High Performance Centre – Ontario, took down her new teammate Kayla Sanchez. Sanchez, fresh off the 100m backstroke, was second in 25.21.
Maggie MacNeil, who claimed third in the 200 fly earlier in the session, picked up another bronze.
Men’s 50m Freestyle
- Ruslan Gaziev – 22.46
- Mehdi Ayoubi – 22.77
- Ethan Fazekas – 23.11
Ruslan Gaziev from Etobicoke put a scare on the 50m freestyle Canadian 15-17 NAG record tonight with a smoking fast 22.46. Although he didn’t beat the record, he beat all the remaining competitors in the field.
Mehdi Ayoubi was second in 22.77 followed by Ethan Fazekas in 23.11
Women’s 200m Breaststroke
- Sarah Darcel – 2:24.23
- Mary-Sophie Harvey – 2:24.65
- Layla Black – 2:26.47
After losing to Mary-Sophie Harvey in the 400m IM last night and watching her take down her NAG record, Sarah Darcel managed to claim a win over her rival tonight in the 200m breaststroke.
Darcel rocked a 2:24.23 to just barely beat Harvey who was fresh off breaking the Canadian record in the 400m freestyle just a few minutes earlier. Still, Harvey put together a 2:24.65 performance for second.
Layla Black touched in for third in 2:26.47.
Men’s 200m Breaststroke
- Ryan Telford – 2:09.47
- Joshua Young – 2:11.66
- Owen Huang – 2:13.93
Ryan Telford was the only swimmer under the 2:10 mark in the men’s 200m breaststroke, stretching in at the touch to win the race in 2:09.47. Second to Telford was Joshua Young in 2:11.66 followed by Owen Huang in 2:13.93.
Women’s 50m Butterfly
- Danika Huzinga – 26.47
- Jade Hannah – 26.81
- Stella Jin – 27.12
Danika Huizinga added even more hardware tonight with the top time in the women’s 50m butterfly. Huizinga was a 26.47 to touch first ahead of both Jade Hannah and Stella Jin who put up times of 26.81 and 27.12 respectively.
Men’s 50m Butterfly
- Alexandre Perrault – 24.32
- Adrian Goin – 24.63.
- Thomas Lafontaine-Giguere – 24.79
Alexandre Perrault won a close final in the men’s 50m butterfly with a 24.32 performance. That time beat Adrian Goin’s 24.63 by three-tenths. Goin clocked in second ahead of Thomas Lafontaine-Giguere’s 24.79.
Island Swimming won the women’s 400m freestyle relay and Cascade Swim Club won the men’s 400m freestyle relay.
