Mitch Bowmile is a former Canadian age group swimmer who was forced to end his career early due to a labrum tear in his hip and a torn rotator cuff after being recognized as one of the top 50 breaststrokers his age in Canada. He competed successfully at both age group nationals and provincials. His passion for swimming has been taken from the pool and put into coaching and writing. Mitch is currently a coach working with provincial level qualifiers at his local club. One day Mitch wants to take his love of swimming and passion for coaching to work with a D1 NCAA team. Mitch is currently completing a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Ryerson University in hopes of becoming the voice of Canadian swimming. Mitch’s main goal is to improve coverage of Canadian content and grow the sport as much as possible worldwide.
