Matthew CarringtonFormer North Central High School (Indiana) swim coach Matthew Carrington has pleaded guilty to child seduction and received a suspended sentence.

The 36-year old Carrington was sentenced to two years of jail time, and aside from one day already served, that sentence was suspended, meaning that so long as he adheres to the terms of his probation, he will not serve any more time in prison.

Carrington was arrested in February of 2015 and charged with Child Seduction and was terminated from his positions at that time.

According to official Indiana State Records, the full charge involves when a child care worker engages in fondling or touching a child between 16-17 years old, and is classed as a Felony 6. Indiana sentencing guidelines put the range of prison time for a Felony 7 between 6 months and 2 1/2 years, with an advisory sentence of 1 year.

Carrington spent just over two years as an assistant coach with North Central High School and also worked at the USA Swimming member Washington Township Swim Club. He has since been banned by USA Swimming.

His mugshot and the story of his arrest were published in the North Central High School yearbook last year, raising concern among parents at the time.
