It would be remiss of me not to point out the sheer number of National Age Group records that have fallen over the last two weeks. They’ve all been reported separately on SwimSwam but in this week’s Weekly Wonders Special Edition we thought we’d list them all in one place.
The assault on the short-course NAGs began earlier in the fall with state high school championship meets and culminated with the slew of new marks set these last two weekends at Nationals in Knoxville, TN, at Junior Nationals in Greensboro, NC, and at regional meets like Tom Dolan Invitational in College Park, MD.
This incredible generation of age-group swimmers demonstrates just how strong -and deep- the American swimming pipeline is.

What a list of new great swimmers in the making . Absolutely stunning and very good for the swimming world and swimming future … I would love to see this young Lasco swimming . It seems he has great technique and fluidity ( that’s exactly what i love watching in freestyle and backstroke ). Thanks BOBO for the tip .
Usa has no worries to have for it’s future in swimming and The M Phelps effect goes on shining on the youngsters .
Watch his 100 back and 200 free from last week at the Tom Dolan Invitational. It’s all about fluidity and technique.
And yes, it’s the Michael Phelps generation.
Wow! Great champions in the making.
Can’t wait to see if Ryan Hoffer will confirm in long course his tremendous short course season.
Cassidy Bayer is the next US star on butterfly.
Reece Whitley shows an amazing potential on breaststroke.
Michael Andrew is the NAG records’ king.
Caeleb Dressel is an amazing sprinter. Kazan 2015 in the relay? Rio 2016 on individual and in the relays?
Janet Hu will be a monster college swimmer.
And last but not least, perhaps my new favorite youngster with Destin Lasco. I’m absolutely amazed by his technique especially on backstroke and on freestyle. I don’t know if he will win an olympic gold medal one day but… Read more »
