While they didn’t compete in the 100 freestyle that took place on the final day of the meet, Caeleb Dressel and Natalie Hinds both raced the event in a time trial before heading back to Gainesville.
Olympic champion Dressel swam his 100 freestyle in a 49.72, splitting 23.55 on the way out and coming back in a 26.17. Dressel has been under 49 seconds more than 30 times in his career and holds a PB of 46.96 in the event from the 2019 World Championships.
Dressel’s Olympic gold medal-winning time in Tokyo of 47.02 was his second-fastest swim ever.
In addition to the 100 freestyle, Dressel raced to first place in the 50 freestyle (21.89), 200 freestyle (1:49.96), 50 butterfly (23.44), 100 butterfly (51.95), and second place in the 50 breast (28.22).
Hinds swam the 100 freestyle in a 54.70 and split a 26.12 followed by a 28.58. Hinds’ personal best in the 100 freestyle came at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Trials when she swam a 53.55 to tie Olivia Smoliga for first place in semi-finals. Hinds went on to swim a 53.84 in the final for fourth place, earning herself a spot on the Tokyo relay.
54.70 marks her 10th fastest time in her career and 13th time under 55.
Hinds raced to first place at Sectionals in both the 50 freestyle (25.44) and 50 butterfly (26.35) and finished 2nd in the 200 free (2:00.60).
