Versatile Anna Tindall Verbally Commits to Oklahoma Baptist for 2020-21

Anna Tindall from Nampa, Idaho has verbally committed to swim for Oklahoma Baptist University beginning in the fall of 2020. A senior at Skyview High School, she swims year-round for the club team Nampa Swim Team.

Tindall finished 4th in the 100 breast (1:10.09) and 4th in the 200 IM (2:13.16) at last fall’s Idaho High School 5A State Championships. A highly versatile swimmer, she also competes in free, back, and fly. At Federal Way Sectionals last March, she swam the 100 back, 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM and took home lifetime-best times in the 100 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM. A month earlier she had gone PBs in the 200 back, 200 fly, and 400 IM at Snake River LSC Short Course Championships. There, she won the 200 fly and 400 IM and was runner-up in the 200 back and 200 IM. This summer, she finaled in all her events (100m free, 100m back, 100m/200m breast, and 200m/400m IM) at the Cottonwood Heights Invitational. Her 100 breast time of 1:17.38 was a lifetime best.

Oklahoma Baptist transitioned from NAIA to NCAA Division II and competes now in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Bison were runners-up to Colorado Mesa at the 2019 conference meet. They will have lost 5 of their top 2018-19 breaststrokers (including Victoria Fonville who transferred to NC State) by the time Tindall starts. Her best 100 breast, 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM, and 400 IM times would have scored for OBU in their respective B finals at conference. Her 100 fly would have made the C final.
