Vince Chiappetta of Reach Aquatics Swim Club in Illinois has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for fall 2021. He’s a senior at Jacobs High School.

Chiappetta is a distance specialist, and he went a lifetime best 4:38.80 at the IHSA Sectionals in February 2020. He qualified for the State meet, where he finished 29th overall. His best time from Sectionals would’ve gotten him into the B-final at State.
Just before the pandemic hit, Chiappetta raced at the Illinois Senior Championships in March, where he finished top-eight in the 500 free, 1650 free and 400 IM, including a fourth-place effort and lifetime best in the mile.
The UW-Milwaukee men finished 6th of 7 teams at the 2020 Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships. Chiappetta would’ve scored at 11th in the mile at the Horizon League Champs last year, and he would’ve gotten into the 400 IM B-final. He’s also just a couple seconds off of scoring speed in the 500 free.
Chiappetta joins Brady Basile and Brian Knothe in UW-Milwaukee’s class of 2025 this fall.
