COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The USA Swimming Foundation today announced that it has awarded $507,618 to learn-to-swim programs across the country through its 2021 grant program for swim lesson providers. These grants will support programs offering free or reduced-cost swim lessons, providing an estimated 13,800 children with the opportunity to learn how to swim.
The USA Swimming Foundation vetted 243 applications through a competitive annual review process, choosing 67 programs across 27 states to receive funding. Since 2007, the USA Swimming Foundation has awarded grants to help fund learn-to-swim programs across the country.
In 2020, the USA Swimming Foundation granted $314,114 in funding to learn-to-swim programs. Together, the Foundation and their nationwide network of more than 1,500 swim lesson providers are helping to spread the importance of learning to swim and water safety.
