STORRS, Conn. – What a difference a year makes. The UConn men’s swimming and diving team squeaked out a 122-115 victory at Dartmouth a season ago but on Senior Day Saturday at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium, the Huskies made a statement from the start, leading to a 167-125 win,

After celebrating the careers of Will KearseyCooper KnappDoug QuagliatoKyle Kennedy and Karl Bishop, the 400 yard Medley relay set the tone from race one.

Kearsey, Knapp, Rowan King and Kyle Dunlap set a pool record 2:24.12 en route to capturing a first place finish and the Huskies swept the podium.

Knapp had himself a great final home dual meet by notching wins in the 100 and 200 Fly. His mark of 48.71 just missed setting a new pool record set by David May during the 2017-18 season (48.46).

Kearsey posted a season-best in the 100 Free with a first place time of 45.26, the senior also collected a top spot finish in his marquee 100 Backstroke event.

Freshman Billy Regan shined on Saturday with a pair of wins in the 200 Breaststroke (2:04.33) and the 200 IM (1:53.98).

Josh Wroblewski also secured a pair of wins against Dartmouth in the 200 (1:39.72) and 500 (4:34.69) Freestyle events.

UConn has a quick turnaround with their last road dual meet of the season at Villanova on Saturday, January 25.

STORRS, Conn. – What a difference a year makes. The UConn women’s swimming and diving team lost by a large margin, 154-83, at Dartmouth a season ago but on Senior Day Saturday at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium, the Huskies made a statement from the start, leading to a 171-120 win.

After celebrating the careers of Kamrin DawkinsHolly ParkerSona PinelaBrazil RuleKiley StotlerMegan Wenman and Erin Clifford, the 400 yard medley relay team went out and swept the podium.

Georgia ApostoluKatelyn WalshLinnea Anderson and Meg Wenman raced to a 3:52.43 clip.

Senior Sona Pinela captured a win in her final home dual meet by taking first in the 200 Fly (2:05.91).

Junior Ryan Dulaney had a quality meet by securing wins in the 1000 (10:21.51) and 500 Freestyle (5:05.22) while Katelyn Walsh so notched a pair of wins in the 100 (1:05.40) and 200 Breaststroke (2:24.12).

Freshman Caitlin Spencer highlighted a strong 200 Backstroke with a season-best 2:06.46 earning her first place and Apostolu and Catherine Fazio followed closely behind to clinch an all Husky podium.

STORRS, Conn. – Dartmouth men’s swimming and diving fell to UConn, 167-125, at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium on Saturday.

The Big Green’s A and B 400 medley relays placed third (3:25.76) and fourth (3:30.13) to open the afternoon. Joe Moll was second in the 1000 free (9:44.72), out-touching a UConn swimmer by a second. He also won the 200 back, finishing with a time of 1:52.37. In the 200 free, Tim Park placed second (1:41.49) and Landon Armstrong came in fourth (1:43.43). Park was back in the 100 free, taking third place (47.15).

Swimming the 100 back, Noah Hensley was third (52.85), coming into the wall a tenth of a second ahead of a Husky. Connor LaMastra won the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.34, leaving a five-second gap between him and the swimmer in second, while John Hall placed highest for Dartmouth in the 50 free by taking third (21.47).

On the 1-meter diving board, Justin Sodokoff (315.15) and Ray Neistat (271.35) took the top two spots. It was a similar story on 3-meter; Sodokoff was first (241.02), Neistat took second (293.48), Kyle Schubert came in third place (262.13) and Jonathan Hu was fourth (251.55).

In the 200 breast, Connor Richmond (2:09.93) and Maxwell Jones (2:12.52) placed third and fourth, while in the 500 free, Ethan Banks came in third place (4:43.57) and Park was fourth (4:46.13). LaMastra took second in the 100 fly (49.22) and Moll won the 200 IM (1:57.99). Richmond (2:00.93) and Jones (2:02.48) were second and third.

To end the day, the Green’s 200 free A relay finished in first place (1:26.27). It was followed by B (1:27.67) and C (1:29.90).

Next up, Dartmouth will host the two-day Tate Ramsden Invitational on Jan. 27-28. The event honors former teammate Tate Ramsden ’17, who tragically passed away on Dec. 26, 2015.

The Big Green’s A, B and C 400 medley relays finished in fourth (3:57.07), fifth (4:01.25) and sixth (4:07.08). In the 1000 free, Bridget Parker placed third (10:41.49), while Sarah Finlay was fifth (11:14.26). Ashley Post won the 200 free with a time of 1:51.5, out-touching a UConn swimmer by half a second. Summer Martin came in third place (1:54.61) and Zoe Wortzman took fourth (1:55.52). Post was also second in the 500 free (5:06.93).

In the 100 back, Connie Zhang was fourth (59.67), finishing just ahead of Kaia Reznicek (59.86) and Susannah Laster (1:00.08). Swimming the 100 breast, Maggie Deppe-Walker touched in fourth (1:07.24) and was followed by Megan Tao (1:08.08) and Kenna Van Steyn (1:08.70).

Tao had a good showing in the 200 breast, taking second (2:25.25) and out-touching a UConn swimmer by three-tenths. She was also first in the 200 IM (2:09.17), while Alie Hunter came in second (2:12.75) and Siera Daly took third (2:14.97).

Daly finished highest in the 200 fly in third (2:07.27), and Hunter took fifth (2:15.71). Sophie Smith won both the 50 free (24.17) and 100 free (52.59), while Maggie Pionzio was first on the 1-meter diving board (259.04). On 3-meter, Pionzio was third (258.37), Isabella Lichen was sixth (241.50) and Cypress Toomey took seventh (216.37).

In the 200 back, Reznicek (2:11.49), Finlay (2:13.59) and Connie Zhang (2:14.51) took fourth through sixth. Competing in the 100 fly, Mia Leko came fourth (58.10) and was followed by Reznicek (58.71) and Katherine Cane (59.37).

To end the weekend, Dartmouth won the 200 free relay (1:36.25), out-finishing the Huskies by seven-tenths of a second.

Next up, Dartmouth will host the two-day Tate Ramsden Invitational on Jan. 27-28. The event honors former teammate Tate Ramsden ’17, who tragically passed away on Dec. 26, 2015.
