TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women’s swimming and diving team defeated Drexel 196.5-101.5 Saturday afternoon at Burdick Pool. The men’s team took down the Dragons 172-128.

How it Happened
For the Women:
- Shannon Parrau took the top spot in the three-meter dive, scoring 271.73 points.
- In the one-meter dive, Parrau improved on her NCAA Zone cut with a score of 268.95 points to take first place.
- The 200-medley relay team comprised of Ally Frame, Tiffany Matulis, Hailey Ritter and Maddie Mince took first place with a time of 1:44.52.
- The Tigers swept the 1000 free by way of Bridget Thomas (10:40.25), Lizzy Jones (10:44.46) and Brooke Haag (10:46.97).
- Ava Enriquez’s time of 1:54.34 was good for first place in the 200 free.
- In the 100 back, Ally Frame tied for first place with a time of 57.04.
- Tiffany Matulis won the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.86.
- Maddie Mince and Samantha Casolo went one-two in the 200 fly, clocking in at 2:05.11 and 2:05.99 respectively.
- Katie Nunez and Claire Ryland tied for second place in the 50 free, clocking in at 23.99 each.
- Nunez (52.13) and Ryland (53.05) followed up with a one-two finish in the 100 free.
- Maddie Frick’s time of 2:06.85 was good for second place in the 200 back.
- Britney Denny (2:24.04) and Matulis (2:25.34) finished two-three in the 200 breast.
- In the 500 free, Bridget Thomas took first place with a time of 5:14.23.
- Ritter finished second in the 100 fly with a time of 57.49.
- Maddie Frick won the 200 IM, clocking in at 2:08.47.
- Enriquez, Ryland, Mince and Nunez finished the meet with a win in the 400 free relay (3:30.43).
For the Men:
- Ajani Dorner won the men’s one-meter dive with a score of 300.15 points, qualifying for an NCAA Zone cut in the process.
- In the three-meter dive, Ajani Dorner took the top spot again, scoring 293.93 points.
- Evan Bota, Brian Benzing, Noah Diacumakos and Michael Fazio took the top spot in the 200-medley relay, clocking in at 1:30.24
- Blakely Dean placed third in the 1000 free with a time of 10:06.06.
- Benzing took first place in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.12.
- In the 100 back, Bota (51.90) and Reed Sells (52.21) went one-two.
- Diacumakos’ 57.66 in the 100 breast, good for second place.
- Patrick Flint placed second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.45.
- Fazio took second place in the 50 free with a time of 21.01.
- Fazio placed second in the 100 free, clocking in at 46.35.
- Sells took the top spot in the 200 back, clocking in at 1:54.17. Ian Hewett placed second (1:54.79).
- The Tigers swept the podium in the 200 breast by way of Diacumakos (2:05.75), Flint (2:08.74) and Julian Maycock (2:08.89).
- David Walton placed third in the 500 free, clocking in at 4:51.47.
- Benzing won the 100 fly with a time of 48.07.
- Flint (1:53.23) and Diacumakos (1:54.50) finished one-two in the 200 IM.
- Luke Schwar, Fazio, Daniel McLaughlin and Benzing finished with a victory in the 400 free relay.
Coach’s Thoughts
“Great day for our team and seniors! I could not be prouder of how our team responded against a tough opponent in Drexel. Our divers started us out great, with our women going one-three on 1 meter and senior diver AJ earning his first NCAA zone cut, also on 1 meter. The team was successful in winning the close touches in the swimming events. We’re looking ahead to a strong end of the season,” added Coach Bruno.
On Deck for Towson
The Tigers head to Newark, Del. to face the Delaware Blue Hens in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) competition on Saturday, Jan. 28 for the final dual meet of the season. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 PM.

TOWSON, MD. – The Drexel women’s swimming and diving team fell short against Towson on the road in a meet on Saturday. Despite a few standout performances, the Dragons fell by a score of 196.50-101-50.
Federica Nocera had herself an impressive day in the pool as she had two first place finishes. In the 100 back, Nocera finished with a time of 57.04 and in the 200 back, she clocked in at 2:02.64. Other first place finishes for the Dragons includes Lera Nasedkina in the 50 free (23.70), Megan Sicinski in the 200 breast (2:23.70) and Megan Ehrnfeldt in the 100 fly (56.55).
Meanwhile on the diving board, Cora Hochstetler made the podium, finishing third on the three meter board with a score of 244.35.
Up next, the Dragons gear up for the CAA Championships. The three day event starts on February 22 from Hampton, Va.

TOWSON, MD. – The Drexel men’s swimming and diving team couldn’t get it done against Towson on the road in a meet on Saturday. Despite some standout performances, the Dragons fell by a score of 172-128.
Devin Bauman had himself a strong day in the pool, as he was able to finish first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:39.94. Bauman got another first place finish in the 500 free, clocking in at 4:43.79.
Kacper Karnik also had an impressive day. Karnik finished first in the 100 breast, finishing up with a time of 57.33. Other first place finishes for the Dragons include Sebastian Smith in the 100 free (46.28), John Scully in the 50 free (20.98) and Alessio Gianni in the 200 fly (1:51.52).
Meanwhile on the diving board, Jack Patton placed second on the three meter board, putting up a score of 206.78. Patton was also able to find the podium on the one meter board, finishing third with a score of 245.33.
