Touch The Wall Exclusive Video Starring Missy Franklin

In advance of the DVD release of their film Touch the Wall, filmmakers Grant Barbeito and Christo Brock caught up with Missy Franklin to ask a few questions about the star’s experience of being in the film. Missy, now back in Colorado training with her former and present coach Todd Schmitz, talked with the filmmakers about the film.

After a turbulent but successful stint swimming with Teri McKeever at UC Berkeley, Missy returned to the town of her roots to focus on the long course summer season. Back in March, Missy turned professional, and since then has inked deals with Speedo and Minute Maid. Missy is proof that you can go home again.

DVDs of Touch the Wall are now available on the film’s website store. Get them here.

SCCoach: Missy absolutely loved her 2 years at Cal. I live nearby and remember her quote about how much she loved her parents and that “she would not trade her experiences and friends in Berkeley for anything in the world”.

Imagine her 1:39 in the 200 free at NCAA championships, her 47s in the 100 free, her 4:30s in the 500 (not one of her regular events) and, of course, great times in the back (her signature event).

Just a few Cal haters on this board…. can you just wait til they start again on Liz Pelton, Rachael Bootsma and new frosh class with McLaughlin, Bilquist, Baker, and Weitzel (deferring right now for Olympics)?

TTW Backers – thanks to all of you for your support, and we’re working to get you all the downloads you pledged for. Until we secure that digital platform to do that – iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, i.e. – we can only offer old school DVDs and BluRays. We’re offering them half off to KS backers who want a copy of the film now.

Outside of people gossiping about Missy swimming some off events in college and not swimming as fast at times as some people hoped, what was “turbulent” about her college experience? As far as I know she loved it at Cal. Did Missy say something or did some conflict come out that I missed?

Did they ever send out copies of the film to Kickstarter backers? Just realized I had an issue w/ my email address on Kickstarter, assuming I missed it.

I haven’t got my copy yet. I wonder when they plan to deliver it by email (?).
