Three-sport Athlete Lexie Vanderloo to Swim for Cornell in 2021-22

Leesburg, Virginia’s Lexie Vanderloo has announced she will be swimming for Cornell beginning next fall.

A senior at Loudoun County High School, Vanderloo runs cross-country, swims, and runs track. She is a captain of the swim team and holds school records in the 200 free, 500 free, 100 back, 200 IM, 200 free, relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 free relay. At the Virginia High School 4A State Championships in February, she placed 4th in both the 200 free (1:55.19) and 500 free (5:11.71). She notched PBs in both the 100 free and 200 free at Regionals, while her best 500 free time comes from a 14th-place finish at 18&U Winter Championships where she competed with her club team, Nations Capital Swim Club.

Vanderloo will suit up for the Big Red with class of 2025 commits Alex Syrkin and Amanda Petersen. The Ivy League canceled intercollegiate athletics competition for winter sports during the 2020-21 season but in 2020, Cornell women finished eighth at the Ivy League Championships.
